So What is a On-Grid Solar Power Plant?

A ON-grid-connected solar power plant (or photovoltaic power system or grid-connected PV power system or On-Grid solar power plant) is an electricity generating solar PV power system that is connected to the state power grid.

So What is Payback period of ON-GRID Solar Power Plant?

The payback period of a ON-GRID Solar power plant is 5 years, but you can calculate it for yourself by following method.

 

It is easy to calculate the payback period of ON Grid Solar Power Plant by following method.

The Average power generated by ON-GRID Solar Power Plant in India, per day is 4 Unit.

So power generated by 5kW of Solar power plant for a year will be 5x4x365= 7,300 Units per year.

And the price per unit per unit in India is 8 rs

So Annual saving on a 5kW solar power plant will be 8x7,300 = 58,400 rs.

So payback period for 5kW ON-GRID Solar Power Plant will be 285,000/58,400 = 4.8 Year of 5 Year Approximately

But if you calculate the same for 25kW, the payback period will be 4 year (Approx) cause price of higher size power plant per watt is lower than that of Lower size power plant.

What size of plant do I required ?

It is easy to calculate the size of ON-GRID Solar Power Plant by following method. First calculate the average power consumption of your home, for a year.

To calculate the same you will need electricity bill of current month and six month old bill because every bill contain units of last six months.

Let say total units consumption for your home is 7675 than average units consumption for day will be 7675/365 = 21.

Now the average power generated by ON-Grid solar power plant per kW per day is 4.

So required power plant size is 21/4 = 5.25kW. 

It is always suggested to select plant size equal 90% or 95% of required plant size, So required ON-Grid Solar power plant size will be 5kW.
